Making Report:

I first designed and fabricated a prototype of the lean bar from wood for presentation to the NYC DOT prior to manufacturing,  Upon successful completion of the prototype, I then developed a bid for the manufacturing of a full scale prototype to be installed at an existing NYC DOT bus stop as a proof of concept for a larger manufacturing run.  The project was developed as a mechanical assembly of cast aluminum and machined stainless steel parts to be easily broken down and installed in the field.  Durability, cost and aesthetics were all equally measured in the development of the prototype and the final piece was successful in achieving all three criteria: the final product was completed within budget and  met the strict aesthetic and durability requirements of the project.
